This tour lengthens the 7 night Cotswolds itinerary by the addition of two nights in Devizes to the east of Bath at the beginning of the tour. This allows riders to visit the fascinating prehistoric site at Avebury.
The first leg is a gentle ride along the towpath of the Kennet and Avon Canal from Bath to Devizes for a two night halt. There are options to lengthen the route using side tracks to various sites of interest. The loop route from Devizes takes you to the ancient market town of Marlborough and on the Avebury. From Devizes you ride to the quaint village of Lacock and then continue north to Tetbury in the Cotswolds. The next leg continues north through beautiful Cotswolds countryside to Stow-on-the-Wold for a two night stopover. The loop ride visits several beautiful and historic villages to the north of Stow. Leaving Stow to the south, you visit Burford and Northleach en route to Cirencester. A circuit from here explores the valley of the River Coln. The final leg back to Bath takes you to Castle Combe and finishes with a marvellous descent down to the Avon Valley.
